WEEK 4

the HOME

SPRIAL NOIR TABLE // She’s beauty, she’s grace, she’s (weirdly) affordable.

STRIPED HEMP RUG // As we’ve discussed, I’m not here to spend a fortune on rugs. My dogs are too likely to ruin them. Etsy has great options.

DALTON NESTING TABLES // Love an iron table. And the little spheres at the base of the tapered legs give it such a chic element of interest.

ALEX MARSHALL STUDIO VASES // I have a grouping of these in white that are just so pretty. Local Sources: Summer Story (Alys Beach, FL)

CB2 CANOPY BED // I have loved this bed for years and always search for it on Facebook Marketplace. I’m a little over brass right now, though. I have dreams of finding someone to make a custom iron version a la the nesting tables above.

SIEMPRE RECYCLED FIBER BLANKET // I’m a big throw blanket girl.

LUKA FLOOR MIRROR // As far as floor mirrors go, this is a great price point. You could DIY using a rectangular mirror, wood balls, and spray paint.

MARSHALL ACTON III // Apparently these are good speakers. I just think they’re really pretty.

“AQUATIC EQUESTRIAN” // This photograph just feels so magical.

the KITCHEN

SURFACE CLEANER // I’m a weirdly hesitant about direct-to-consumer brands, especially when they’re membership-based and sustainable. But Public Goods has not disappointed. I adore the scents and don’t feel like I’ve compromised on efficacy.

MANGO WOOD BOARD // I picked up one of these from DUH and love it. Local Sources: Design Supply (Birmingham, AL) DUH (Pensacola, FL)

DISH SOAP // See above.

the GARDEN

CITRONELLA COIL // This citronella coil is almost too cool to use. No malaria for me this summer!

OUTDOOR LANTERN // Currently on the hunt for cool outdoor lanterns for our screened front porch that don’t break the budget. These are the current front runners.

WINDSOR PLANTERS // These are so chic and so outside of my budget. Please buy everything I link so I can earn enough commission by 2050 to purchase.

the CLOSET

POPLIN SHORTS // Trying out this set! Here’s the top.

PUFF SLEEVE DRESS // To be honest, clothes can feel really intimidating to me. And so there are a few pieces I wear (too) often each season. This is one of them. I think I wore it to three different Christmas parties (festive, I know) and have worn it throughout the summer.

HERMES ORAN SANDAL // Best purchase ever.

LACE HIPSTER // I was a loyal Cosabella girlie until I discovered this Target option. The price point can’t be beat and they hold up really well to careless washing (i.e. I don’t hand wash, separate from non-delicates, and definitely tumble dry).

OUTDOOR VOICES DOUBLETIME BRA // As I’m not very well-endowed I can’t speak to the support or anything else other women look for in a sports bra, but I love this one. Actually, it’s the only sports bra I’ll wear.

OUTDOOR VOICES WARM-UP SHORTS 5” // I tried a few bike shorts before settling on these. The 5” inseam and sturdy material give more of a slimming element than any other brand I’ve tried (including Alo, Girlfriend Collective, Nike).

JEWELRY PORTFOLIO // This jewelry portfolio encouraged me to go through my jewelry collection and ditch the junky, trendy pieces I acquired throughout college and my early twenties. I love that it’s compact, travel-friendly, and comes with lots of pockets, sleeves, and thingies to hold earrings so that nothing gets tangled.

PER MY LAST EMAIL // I think I’ve said it before, but I’ll say it again: I love a cheeky dad hat. And while I’m fortunate that my “per my last email” days are behind me this phrase just gives me the warm and fuzzies.

the BEAUTY

MAD ET LEN CANDLES // I could not tell you how these smell (perfect reason to shop them locally) but I must have one because of the container. Local Sources: Summer Story (Alys Beach, FL), Parasol (Alys Beach), ACME 5 (Santa Monica, CA)

LIT UP STICK // Big highlighter gal. I like how subtle (read: low on the sparkle) this is and the slippery-smooth way it goes on. Local Sources: Willow (Inlet Beach, FL), The Atelier (Birmingham, AL), Valentine’s (Austin, TX)

MAISON PEARSON KNOCKOFF // As I rarely bother to brush my hair (sorry Mom, just being honest), I could never justify a Maison Pearson brush. But according to Amazon, this is a great dupe. And when I do brush my hair it feels nice.

the ETC.

FEEL FREE MAGAZINE // Leanne Ford’s Restored By the Fords is the only HGTV show I really care about (you can watch it on Amazon Prime, though I think you’ll have to purchase it). I love how Leanne celebrates the color white, creating interest through tone, texture, and layers. I love how eager she is to break rules, embrace weird, and share her sources. Anyway… This is her magazine. Local Source: Juxtaposition Home (Newport Beach, CA)

RAE ROLL TOP DRY BAG // This is the first dry bag I’ve seen that’s cool.

MINI PET PORTRAIT by ROBIN STANLEY // C doesn’t read my emails so I think it’s safe to share that I’ve commissioned a teensy-tiny sketch of his beloved late dog, Grace, for his 30th. We talk about her weekly and it feels right to bring her into our shared home together. Even I’m shocked by my sentimentality. I knew I wanted a small format charcoal or pencil sketch so that it didn’t feel fussy. I’m really excited and will report back! And I swear to God, Christian, if this is the week you decide to read my emails I will lose it.

FOGGY DOG COLLAR // If you didn’t fancy last week’s dog collar, this might be for you.

THY NEIGHBOR’S WIFE // As a writer, I should be a better reader. This is one of the last books I read and I loved it so much I’ve started re-reading. An exploration of sexuality in America after WWII, this is not the summer read for the strait-laced.
