WEEK 11

the HOME

“PICKLEBALL” by ALICE FORD // Looks like they’re playing tennis to me…

ZANZIBAR TOBACCO PILLOW // This print offers a bit of island aesthetic that feels wonderfully whimsical. As always, highly recommend purchasing your pillows from Etsy, unless you have your own upholsterer on hand, in which case, I want to be you when I grow up!

19TH CENTURY FRENCH COMMODE // Formal and richly hued, this French commode stuns. Side note, I highly recommend following along with Lily’s Vintage Finds. The owner, a twenty-something Houstonian with an infectious zeal for antiques, just went on her second buying trip in France, scoring dozens of fabulous pieces like this commode, which are usually listed for much more competitive prices.

CHAIR 03 // Zara’s home line is truly impressive, and this versatile leather chair is no exception. Just imagine the patina after a few years of loving use!

“FRENCH OPEN” by SHAUN ELLISON // They’re definitely playing tennis here!

the TABLE

MURANO GLASSWARE // Brown is an unsung neutral hero. And, while these Murano by Maryana Iskra, 2004, Set of 6 glasses don’t come cheap, think of the price per use!

TEEMA DESSERT PLATES // Pair with a creamy linen napkin and the above glassware for a really chic, neutral tables cape.

J’AI SOIF CARAFE SET // After the single most impressive stay I’ve ever experienced, I’m looking into upping my guest experience. And while this carafe has nothing on the full-stocked fridge, pantry, and daily fresh pastries my host treated me to, the design centric bedside table addition is a step in the right direction. At least that’s what I’m telling myself.

DOUBLE WALL GLASSES // Yield is a new-to-me brand that has really beautiful colors and silhouettes.

TAPERED CANDLES // Bookmark for your Thanksgiving table!

the VANITY

CC+ CREAM FULL COVERAGE // While I hate (hate!) wearing foundation, this is my go-to when I’m looking for full-coverage. And while I’m certainly no makeup expert, I do like to mix it with a tried-and-true favorite, Chanel Blurring Smooth Effect Foundation to lighten up the coverage. No mask-like makeup for me, please.

DIPTYQUE AMBRE // A warm, elegant scent that feels just right to welcome fall.

D-BRONZI BRONZING DROPS with PEPTIDES // An antioxidant-rich, peptide-infused serum delivers a bronzy wash of color. Not sure what any of that means except the last part, which is why I use it! Another thing I like to mix!

the CLOSET

EPI KEEPALL 50 CIPANGO // A longtime lust! Family, bookmark for Christmas :)

V-12 SNEAKERS // Fan favorite sneakers I haven’t personally tried, but am considering. Very much in the market for a norm-core, strictly-streetwear sneaker. Any recommendations?

BRAIDED SUEDE JACKET // I am [not so] secretly rooting for a Coach comeback — mostly as a result of this stunning jacket.

CELINE ZIPPED CARD HOLDER // I don’t know how people carry massive wallets. Card cases are my go-to, especially as I switch out purses like underwear.

TRAPANI CUTOUT LINEN DRESS // Faithful the Brand is a, wait for it, old faithful, when it comes to summer dressing. And their neutral colors make their pieces perennial.

the ETC.

RALLY LEATHER PADDLE CASE // If I’ve said it once, I’ve said it a million times: the best thing about pickleball is the effect it’s had on racket sport fashion.

WONDER VALLEY HIGH DESERT PUZZLE // After a whirlwind trip to the desert, I’m dreaming of returning. This should tide me over.

STAUD PET BED // For the well-loved dog (or dogs).

FLY SWATTER // Fly swatter, but make it chic.

HATS OFF TO YOU CARD // Longtime readers know I love to stock up on greeting cards for last-minute celebratory notes, and this is one to add to your collection.

PARADISE ROW TENNIS BALL HOLDER // Up your game with this delightfully unnecessary tennis ball holder. Or gift to your most tennis-rabid friend.

CABANA MAGAZINE ISSUE 19 // Founded by Martina Mondadori, Christoph Radl and Gianluca Reina in 2014, Cabana Magazine explores the intersection between interiors and design. Expounding upon this mission, the brand has curated a discerning collection of homewares that are as stunning as they are interesting.

AVAR ALTO: PARADISE FOR THE MAN IN THE STREET // Finland’s Alvar Aalto (1898–1976) made a unique modernist mark, demanding a humanity in his spaces, which feel deliciously masculine.
