WEEK 10

the HOME

CASCAIS RATTAN CHANDELIER // Proof that rattan can feel fancy.

CHROME CANTILEVER CHAIR // These dreamy midcentury modern chairs are the stuff my dreams are made of.

WICKER URN with BASE // Where a traditional urn and pedestal would look incredibly stuffy (okay, ridiculous) anywhere other than a long gallery in a landed gentry’s least favorite estate house, I find the wicker options to be delightfully versatile and approachable. Local Sources: Similar at Camelback Flowershop (Phoenix, AZ)

SANDBAR BENCH // A less expensive version of the Serena & Lily favorite, this bench feels perfect for catching all your kids’ backpacks and your husband’s dirty clothes.

SANTA BARBARA DRUM SCONCE // More rattan please!

JUTE SCALLOPED RUG // Currently nursing an aching back after moving our travertine coffee table to replace the seagrass rug that Wilson ruined. Turns out Wilson likes to dig, but only inside. And, as this is the second rug he’s, um, customized, I’m holding off on purchasing any rugs I’ll get particularly attached to, like this jute scalloped find.

BRAIDED RAFFIA BASKET // These are staples throughout our house. We put plants in ‘em, laundry accoutrements, socks — you name it. Pro Tip: I buy storage containers I know are going to be in stock year after year so that, when I need more, I can purchase the exact same style. It brings me an unhealthy amount of joy to see everything match and have a seamless feel throughout my house, right down to the cabinets, drawers, and closets.

the KITCHEN

RATTAN COCKTAIL SHAKER // Who says I can’t use this to mix up mocktails? Local Sources: Linen & Sand (Seagrove Beach, FL)

BRASS BOTTLE OPENER WITH RATTAN HANDLE // Pair with your host’s favorite beverage for an easy hostess gift. Local Sources: Linen & Sand (Seagrove Beach, FL)

WICKER THERMOS // Dreaming of a backyard fire with a hot chocolate bar setup featuring this thermos. Just add the fixings for a s’mores.

the TABLE

RATTAN SERVING STAND // Another cake stand, though if we’re considering practicality, I would recommend buying a cake stand with a cloche.

BRAIDED RATTAN LED LIGHT SHADE // CC.BOONE debuted similar set at a rehearsal dinner this weekend and they are just as darling as you think they are. A must if you have the Zafferano Poldina lamp (or similar). Local Sources: ALMY (Birmingham, AL)

RAFFIA NAPKIN RING // Crafted by Colombian artisans, the neutral hue makes them a versatile addition to your tablescape.

RATTAN CHARGER // A versatile staple for 7our table.

WOVEN UTENSIL CADDY // Love this for summer picnics or other al fresco gatherings.

SEAGRASS CAGE HIGHBALL GLASSES // The novelty of seagrass caged table goods hasn’t yet worn off, but my excuse is that I live at the beach. What’s yours?

SEAGRASS SHAKERS // Seagrass for your salt (and pepper).

the GARDEN

WICKER PICNIC BASKET SET // This picnic basket is outfitted with all the picnic essentials, just pack snacks.

RATTAN BEVERAGE TUB // While the rest of the country may have their sights set on Fall entertaining, I’m gearing up to finally enjoy being outside. Cue outdoor dinners with elevated self-serve beverage stations.

RATTAN FOLDING CHAIR // Similar to the (discontinued?) Serena & Lily Palisades Chair I’ve been eyeing for a while. Feels too low for a patio, too cumbersome for a beach day, but just right for a backyard fire pit moment.

AGRARIAN TOOL BASKET // Now I need a proper garden to justify a dedicated garden basket.

the CLOSET

SAC DU JOUR RAFFIA TOTE BAG // Is this the chicest purse I’ve ever seen?

*PACKABLE HAT // A hardworking hat I’ve put through its paces on projects around the house. Bonus points for the chin strap (truly something I never thought I would say), so I don’t lose it on boat days. Local Sources: Becasa (Apalachicola, FL & Inlet Beach, FL)

WOVEN BUCKLE SANDALS // Birkenstock-esque, but not Birkenstocks, so maybe Gus won’t eat these.

the ETC.

RATTAN: A WORLD OF ELEGANCE // Informal yet somehow glamorous (probably because it hints at sun-dappled verandas of old and who has those these days?), rattan’s appeal has never been more ubiquitous. Take a brief tour through the history of the cult-favorite and long-lasting texture-rich material and then style on your coffee table to never browse again.

WOVEN DOG BASKET // Wilson and Gus would never. But maybe your dog would.

ISLAND HOPPING: AMANDA LINDROTH DESIGN // A coffee table book from the veritable queen of rattan, Amanda Lindroth. Even the cover looks and feels like her beloved woven material.
