WEEK 31

SMOCKED LINEN DRESS // Forever on the hunt for summer-proof dresses that offer any semblance of relief from humidity.

“WINDY BEACH DUNES” by CAROLINE PACULA // It’s giving early morning in the Hamptons from a tiny beach shack that’s been in your family for a century.

MCALPINE: ROMANTIC MODERNISM // Have been eyeing the renowned architect’s latest book for a while and now it’s on sale on Amazon.

BEACH SHORTS // Also on the hunt for a casual summer short. Requirements: high-waisted, yet loose in the thighs.

RIBBON MUGS // A bit of sculptural detailing for your morning coffee.

NABU TABLE LAMP // Firmly of the opinion that you don’t need color to add interest. Rather, texture and silhouette will do the trick. More specifically, an interesting mix of them.

TEAK STOOL // I’ve said it before, but I’ll say it again. Stools are the unsung hero of the styling world. Place in front of a larger console and stack with books. Add it at the end of your kitchen island as a landing place for your purse. Style (a waterproof version) in walk-in showers to hold extra products (and your legs while shaving).

POSITANO LINEN PJ’S // Historically I’ve been a big tee sleeper, but there’s something that feels rather indulgent — almost as if I’m waking up on vacation — about waking up in luxe pjs.

WATERING GLASS CAN // I read somewhere that you don’t really “love” something unless you actively care for it. A simple, perhaps incredibly obvious sentiment, that had an impact on me. So, I’m working on really loving my plants by actively watering them.

FLUTED HURRICANE // Perfect for al fresco dinners and, yes, hurricane season.

STORAGE BASKET WITH HANDLES // Unsolicited advice: invest in beautiful storage baskets, even if they’ll be living under your bed or in your laundry room. We have more of a laundry hallway and it brings me such joy to see my beautiful Uashmama baskets. Plus, I’m never wincing when guests arrive through our backdoor (i.e. laundry hallway) because these baskets make the space look (at least in my humble opinion) quite intentional and put together. Not ready to make the investment in Uashmama? Etsy has great options, too!

VINTAGE COASTAL MONUMENTAL SHELL // A friend found something similar at a thrift store recently and it’s been living rent free in my head for a while now.

*CATCHALL #257 // Big Montes Doggett girl. I think it’s fun to pick pieces up on trips or for special occasions, like No. 257, which I purchased on a trip to Birmingham with my mom. Now, every night when I put my rings in it, I think of the special time I had with my mother. Local Sources: Christopher Collection (Birmingham, AL), DETAILS by Liz Hand Woods (Birmingham, AL).
