WEEK 30

BALCONETTE SWIMSUIT // J.Crew makes a pretty good swimsuit for the price point.

COASTAL SHORES STACK // Not sure where to start when styling stacks of books and/or don’t have hundreds (thousands?) of pounds worth of coffee table books just lying around? One Kings Lane does great styled stacks to get you started.

RAFFIA NIGHTSTAND // My parents have a pair of these and I’m thinking about stealing them for a little project we’re working on. Mom, you read my emails, let me know what you think.

FRENCH FAUX BAMBOO MIRROR // I don’t know if I’d classify one of these faux French bamboo mirrors as a “white whale” find, but I’ve passed on a couple of well-priced options and still kick myself for it. I don’t know enough about the history of these to really comment on the price, but I’ve seen a few for under $295 and probably wouldn’t spend any more than that. Here’s a really small one for $199. Now, note that this isn’t going to be your vanity mirror. It’s more of a layering or accent piece.

BLUE BENGAL STRIPE BED // With crisp linen bedding and vintage wicker nightstands? It’s giving summer cabin on the Cape.

TIDE STRIPE BEACH CHAIR // I might just go to the beach for the first time this calendar year if I had chairs this cute.

VACATION SPRAY // Sunscreen is the hallmark smell of summer. I caught whiffs of it at the Oar House in Pensacola this weekend and it got me jonesing for a boat day. Vacation has bottled (and branded) this to nostalgic smell to perfection.

VANITY CASE // Probably not the luggage brand for those who wince at an airline’s carry-on fee, but gosh isn’t she so cute.

DOUBLE STRIPE CROCK BOWL // Bonus points for crockware/stoneware that doesn’t feel provincial. Pro Tip: While you probably won’t find it sub-$100, don’t pass on undervalued stoneware. They fetch a pretty penny.

SEAFOOD SHELL DISHES // In my humble opinion (and this is my website, so what I say goes), coastal decor is a delicate balance. If you have anything that says “beach house,” you’re doing it wrong. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news.

WICKER TRUNK // Use as a coffee table in a small space, storing board games for rainy days.

“PUSSYFOOTING” by SLIM AARONS // File under “summer inspiration” and instant ticket from Walton County Sheriff’s Office for glass on the beach.

PLASTER SHELL LAMPS // See notes on decorating a beach house.

NANETTE SHORTS // They’re iving Fourth of July.

DEMYLEE STRIPED SWEATER // Cue “The Best Time to Wear a Striped Sweater.” 90’s kids know. Anyway, call me absolutely deranged, but I’d like to pair this with the Nanette Shorts…
