WEEK 1

the HOME

LITTLE THISTLES WALL PAPER // I’ve browsed thousands of wallpapers in search of the right fit for our powder room. I always come back to this one. It feels classic without leaning stuffy.

*POST-MODERN TRAVERTINE COFFEE TABLE // Let me take a second to brag about my best Facebook Marketplace find. For $350 (and a few hundred for the gentlemen who moved and trailered this beauty to a warehouse where it lived for a year until I had a home to fit it) I scored a post-modern Italian travertine coffee table. In Panama City of all places. I will have this piece forever and not just because my man refuses to move it. That said, here’s a comp.

FOLD OUT STOOL // I love these for guest rooms.

*WHITE CUP DRAWER HANDLE // I deliberated on these for our kitchen renovation and regret not using them.

*UASHMAMA PANIERE BUCKET // I discovered these in-store at Outpost / Mast (now Summer Story and Parasol respectively) in Alys Beach and stocked up at their Winter Warehouse Sale. I think I own 7 now (don’t do the math on that investment) and use them for laundry, storage, and — on occasion — a beach/boat bag! Pro Tip: wash them in the dishwasher! Local Sources: Parasol / Summer Story (Alys Beach, FL),

WASSILY KNOCKOFF // Budget-friendly, surprisingly comfortable alternatives to the MCM stunner.

SCALLOPED EDGE OUTDOOR PLANTER // Just ordered these for gardenia topiaries. Not even sure if those plants will fit, but had to have these pots because they were half (!!!) off.

OWEN OUTDOOR LIGHT // Obsessed with these and am debating whether to order one for our guest bath or two to replace exterior lights.

FRENCH RETURN CURTAIN RODS // So, I’ve ordered and installed 9 of these and can say they’re cost-effective options for a light, bright alternative to more traditional curtain rods. Pro Tip: use these drywall anchors not the ones that come with the curtains.

“A SUMMER PLACE” // Gets me in the mood for summer, which feels too hot to really enjoy here in North Florida.

*WHITE MARBLE MODERNIST BOWL // This is sourced from a Camelback Flowershop, a gorgeous small business in Phoenix I learned about through The Scout Guide Phoenix & Scottsdale. They create the most stunning arrangements and curate an equally luxe shop full of unique, love-forever finds like this.

HURRICANE // We love a glass hurricane.

“EIGHT HOMES” // Ample home inspiration here.

the KITCHEN

*SEAGRASS CARAFE // Honestly, I’ve never used mine, but it’s a great styling addition for the kitchen. If you’re wondering, the seagrass comes off so you can clean it thoroughly. Local Sources: Juxtaposition Home (Newport Beach, CA).

MERCER DINNER PLATE // This Crate & Barrel collection is all-around fabulous for everyday dinner plate options. Budget friendly without necessarily looking like it.

BUTTER CLOCHE // Having a butter cloche is the best and worst thing that’s every happened in our kitchen. It offers always soft and spreadable butter that makes it dangerously easy for me to eat loads of butter toast.

GINORI PLATES // Are these out of style yet? I’m not sure and I’m not sure I care. Local Sources: Design Supply (Birmingham, AL), Hyacinth (Midland, TX), P.S. The Letter (Fort Worth, TX).

the CLOSET

*TAKE MONDAY TRAVEL CASE // Not that I travel, but these do make finding stuff in my favorite tote bags (see above) very easy. Does anyone else lose it when they can’t find something that they know is in their purse? Local Source: The Travel Studio (Birmingham, AL)

*NON MERCI DAD HAT // Is there anything better than a cheeky dad hat?

*STEEL CANVAS TOTE // I’ve long nurtured a soft spot for canvas totes, and while I loved the shape and size of KULE’s canvas totes, I wasn’t stoked about the price tag or graphics. This is the company KULE taps for their beloved totes. Each is made to order in the USA and, after owning two, I can attest they’re super high-quality. Pro Tip: You can leave a note in your order to request that the “Steele” stamp is left off tote.

OV EVERYDAY TEE // I come by my love for a white tee honestly (thanks, Mom!) and these are my favorites. Expect a slightly cropped fit and size up for a boxier fit.

STRIPED HALF ZIP // I am literally unable to say no to a striped half-zip.

the BEAUTY

SUD AROMAS CANDLE // My dad, from whom I must have inherited a love of scented candles, introduced me to this brand. This scent is heavy on citrus, thyme, lavender and boasts a great throw. Perfect for summer.

MERIT DAY GLOW // Love a highlight, makes me look healthier than I am.

LE LABO JUMBO HINOKI HAND SOAP // If you love masculine scents, this soap is the perfect everyday indulgence. I want this scent in every form.

EAU THERMALE AVENE HYDRANCE RICHE // Favorite summer moisturizer. FYI I have super sensitive, dry, acne prone skin and this feels nice and doesn’t irritate.
